My Little Einstein

Today Paisley brought me a stack of books to read, and before I could even get started, she whipped out the Dr. Seuss ABC Book, and read it to me. Yes, she read the entire thing. By herself. She even pointed to all the words as she read them aloud. Can you say genius? Oh, you bet your ass you can! I was researching a kindergarten curriculum yesterday online, and realized that Paisley is at that grade level. Right now! At 3 years old! We are currently working on counting by 2's, 3's, 5's, and 10's since that is part of the curriculum as well. Hell, by the time she reaches kindergarten age, she'll be sooooo far ahead of the other kids, that I will have to continue home-schooling her. Sure, they can test her, and let her skip a few grades, but I'm not sure that I want my 5 year old in a 3rd grade class, or higher. The way I see it, we could probably get through 2 grades every year here at the house, vs. her being superbly bored at school. Not to mention, the MS school system is HORRIBLE. I'm pretty sure we rank #50 among the nation. I refuse to allow a public, or even a private school to dumb her down. She's far too brilliant for that. I honestly don't feel like they will be able to challenge her the way she craves. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping and praying that we can move up to New Hampshire before she's ready to go to school. We have our hearts set on it, really. Hopefully a private school up there can cater to her abilities.
